Course and concept

Try to complete as many laps as possible (and preferably the maximum of 8) with a joint start every hour. The first start will be at 10am. Which loop will have to be run, depends on our dice that will be thrown just before the start of each loop.

Please read all information tabs thoroughly for an overview of the course and a detailed explanation of the concept.

  • Dice 1 - Course: Loop A, Loop B ... or Loop C !

We have two dice in the game.

Each dice will be thrown every hour before the start of the loop.
The first dice decides which of the three loops will be ran.

    • Start: 10H00 (solo & team)
    • Supplies after every loop.
    • Time limit: 1u per loop.
    • No plastic cups available, provide your own race cup or flask.

  • Dice 2 (only teams) - Amount of runners

For the teams we'll throw the second dice.

This dice decides how many runners will have to run. Two options: one runner or two runners. When two runners are thrown, two team members need to run and finish together.

Teams of 3 and 4 persons are free of choice who needs to run.

  • Solo or in Team / Scoring

Competing can as an individual runner and in team. We have a solo and team ranking.

    Individually

The individual runners starts every hour and runs as much loops as possibele. Only 1 loop per hour.

    In team

A team consists out of 2, 3 or 4 runners. Every team member runs at least one round. For this event event there is only one team ranking, but we'll honor the fastest men, women and mixed team.

    Scoring

The final results depend on the loops run and with ex aequo (same amount of loops ran) we'll look at points scored by the runner or team.

Less points you score, the better. With every finish you'll score points. Per loop the fastest will score 1 point, the second 2, the third 3, ... In the 8th loop points you score points x 3! So a runners who finishes first for 8 loops scores 10 points and will become the Trail Games Champion. If a runner will be as tough as this, we'll see on the 30th of July.

    Diqualification

When you can't finish your loop within one hour -> DSQ.
When start earlier or run more than one loop within an hour -> DSQ.
When fi only one runner runs when two runners need to run within your team -> DSQ.

Race info

  • Start

Shortly before the start (10.00 - 11.00 - 12.00 - ... 17.00), the die is cast to determine which loop should be run. Everyone runs the same loop.

The "Solo / Duo Die (for teams only)" determines whether this round will be run alone or with 2. There are 4 sides of the die for 1 runner and 2 sides for 2 runners, so there is double the chance that only 1 runner will run.

The final ranking of the "Trail Games®" is primarily determined by the number of rounds completed and in case of a tie, the points are taken into account: the one with the fewest points wins.

Points are awarded for finishing each round. Per round, the fastest gets 1 point, the second 2 points, the third 3 points etc...

The 8th and final round counts double! The person who manages to finish first in 8 rounds earns the minimum number of points of 10 and may then deservedly call himself the Trail Games® Champion.

  • Cut-off times

The time limit will be followed very strictly.

Every runner has 1h time to complete a loop.
When you need more time than 1h for your loop, you can't proceed running and the loops ran will determine your place in the ranking.

  • Podium / Prize allocation

The prizes will be awarded during an award ceremony near the finish area.

The exact hour will be decided on the day itself and communicated by the speaker or the race director. The ceremonies are held approximately 15 minutes after the arrival of the 3rd finisher.

There are no age group podia, only overall for men and women.

  • Aid stations / No plastic cups / Personal drop bag

    AID STATIONS

There are multiple aid stations during the race. The exact locations are indicated on the course map (see the "course" tab). The supplies have standard water, salty snacks, cake, candy, ... Attention! There are no plastic cups at the aid stations, so you have to bring your own drinking cup or bottle.

    NO PLASTIC CUPS!

Because we respect the environment we do not provide disposable plastic cups. So you have to bring a drinking cup or bottle yourself. This applies to the aid stations along the way as well as at the finish. We have handy eco-cups, which are reusable drinking cups that you can fold, to be purchased with your online registration and/or to be purchased at the race office for 3 euros.
